Received this note from my niece, Gwen this morning. I just had to share it with you.
Howdy:
I knew it was going to be rough weather today. It was hot yesterday and this morning. It's still a little warm and starting to turn humid. It is dark gray everywhere, and thunder has been rumbling for awhile. The crop dusters were going all day yesterday and up until about 2 hours ago this morning, they were right over the house. I never have my camera handy, but I will catch them one day!
Our adopted dog ( or she adopted us about a month ago) is the sweetest, nicest, most pitiful dog you ever saw! We call her Gabby. She was Gabe until we checked. She has been a house dog. She wants to come in. She would skulk behind you, but had stopped that. She just sits at the door and waits on you now, at the church and here at the house. Until last night! She got in the church fellowship hall and Daryl had to drag her out!
This morning she went into the utility room and hunkered down. That has begun to make me nervous. Our dog, Happy, acted crazy the day the tornado came through the last time. He set up an unearthly howling for the longest, begging to get in the house, and he was NOT a house dog!
Gabby is definitely part collie, and looks part yellow lab. She is yellow all over, except white collie markings and a collie nose. She is so meek, we just want to cry when we see her. I just don't know why someone dumped her. She came about two days after we got our new puppies.
So...I guess you could say she adopted us.
Well, you need a big outside dog here. To be honest, I feel safer. Even though she walks up to company with her head dropped, tail wagging, and promptly flops over on her back waiting for a curtsey belly rub. Real scary!
Well, the tornado warning are out, and from the looks of it...well, the Lord is good.
Got to unplug my computer. I don't believe we have contents insurance. Hum...not a good time to think about that.
